Urinary Tract Infections

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, more than half of adult women will experience a urinary tract infection (otherwise known as a UTI) in their lifetime. This common condition should not be ignored, as it can lead to of discomforting symptoms such as trouble urinating, painful or burning sensations upon urination, and further growth of infection. While the vast majority of cases are not severe or life-threatening, some instances of UTI may lead to a potentially hazardous kidney infection if left untreated. At Solace Women's Care, we provide gynecology services to help with treating UTIs.

A UTI can be diagnosed following an examination, laboratory test and possible imaging procedures. Antibiotic medications are normally used to destroy the bacteria which caused the infection.
