Cervical Cancer Screening

As part of our gynecology services, Solace Women's Care offers comprehensive screening and care with compassionate doctors and nurses. Women's health issues are important to all women and the best way to ensure cervical health is to schedule yearly Pap test. Testing should begin no later than age twenty-one and within three years of a first vaginal intercourse. Traditional Pap test should be performed yearly or every two years with the newer liquid-based Pap tests. As a woman enters her thirties, screening can be done every two to three years if the previous three tests were normal. Regular check-ups are the best way to ensure vaginal and reproductive health. Regular check-ups are also the best line of defense when it comes to early detection of chronic and potentially serious conditions like cervical cancer.

HPV Screening

HPV (Human Papilloma Viruses) is a grouping of more than 100 different viruses found in a large number of sexually active adults. HPV is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases in the United States. If left untreated HPV can lead to cervical cancer and a number of other health issues. Unfortunately, most women who carry HPV are unaware they are carriers as they don't experience any symptoms. The only way to find out is to get tested. Solace Women's Care offers a full range of services including HPV testing and, if necessary, treatment. There is an HPV vaccine available and is especially important in young women. Call Solace Women's Care with any questions or concerns and to schedule an appointment to see one of our health care providers.
